Masterpiece- The Ultimate Disco Funk Collection (Volumes 1-7)

Here's a collection I stumbled upon recently and thought I should share it on the blog. This is exactly what it says it is. It's that distinct fusion between funk and disco that brings to mind artists like Fonda Rae, First Choice, Detroit Emeralds, Instant Funk, Taana Gardner and more. I can't say I was familiar with a vast number of the artists below but still a good number are familiar and reliable sources for music. I have not listened to the whole collection but I have listened to a good bit of it. Most of that has been in stretches because the collection is so true to that sound that it gets repetitive after awhile. Much the same though, I could not sit through a lengthy series of Go-Go comps either. Too much of the same can be a problem sometimes. As a part of your listening schedule, this is a welcome addition and for those really quite into the genre--it will be even more so. It's enjoyable and had a really good selection of songs and a few classics you are sure to recognize. Enjoy!!!
