Unfortunately on this one, the first in this series has the CD missing from the case and so I will have to follow-up on that later. Strikes me as though Barry might have that one sitting in his collection so send me a message if you have it and can upload it for the masses. The Deep Concentration series was an important compilation series and for the first three volumes it ran very similar to ROTDJ. The fourth in the series ended up being a dedication to the b-boys so it has more lyrical hip-hop on there than the cut-ups on Volumes 1-3. You'll find all the names you'd expect from the turntablism genre and a few new names that end up showing and proving quite well throughout the series. This is a great series and as soon as I track down part 1 I will post it and include a link on here for future visitors. Enjoy!!!!

Wow, for some strange reason I didnt know these releases
Looks like some nice stuff Dom
looks like i don't need to up it then lol
lovely stuff in these - it's a nice eclectic mix of styles.
I only ever got the first CD of this series. The cool thing about it, to me at least, was that it came with a second CD. The second CD was for the computer and had OM Records' Digital Beat Box software / sample sequencer. That program was my first experience playing with samplers on the computer, making beats on the computer, and as crappy as the program was, it certainly got me interested in the whole idea of making my own music. I'm gonna have to break that disc out and see if it will even work on a newer computer, hahah that was something from back in the Windows 95/98 days and MAC OS(whatever was available back then)
hi man, great stuff here!
BTW I'm posting here coz I couldn't find your email.
I've got your breakonomics/hit the brakes packs...but why so many 128kbit files? :(
and why so many 320kb/48Hz in the Breakonomics? and they have constant crackles due to bad samplerate conversion from 44.1
ever consider releasing these packs again in APE highest lossless compression? that'd be neato!!!
my mail is leescratchy<> hotmail<>com
I'm also crazy about deep funk, and maybe I could share some stuff too!
Thanks,
I knew you had them Barry!
Cuts, I guess you have some good listening ahead of you in the next while.
King Skullie, I totally remember that second disc. That was still in the case actually but no the audio CD. Brings back memories for sure!
Anonymous, you can find my e-mail by clicking on my user name and looking at my profile info. As for those two series, they are just collections for listening. I made them for myself to begin with and figured I'd add them to the blog. A number of the files for HTB date back to the original Napster days and that was well before there was any great concern for bitrates. I wish I could clean up the collections at some point but that would be time consuming and take me away from keeping going with the blog. However, now that you know what's what and what you like you can go to other blogs and look for better quality rips if you intend to play these out somewhere. HTB recently turned 7 and maybe when I get some vacation time or on my EDOs, I will begin to rework the collection.
