Once again DJ Doc Brown is providing us with a "deconstructed" mix. You get the original mix by DJ Revolution which is outstanding and then you also get full length versions of the tracks in the mix. However, despite some heavy searching Doc Brown and even myself were not able to track down an mp3 of "Breakdown" by The Fat Boys. If anyone has this track, please feel free to leave a link for it in the comments section. I hope you enjoy the mix and also the nice set of classics, some of them not so easy to find as you might guess. That is indeed an outstanding mix by DJ Revolution. For me, '86 was the first time that I heared rap music. It's a pity that the mix doesn't include Miker G & DJ Sven and the Rocksteady Crew, which were pretty big hits overhere in the Netherlands ;-)
er, ikiro...while i totally dig this site and DJ Doc's sensibilities i am just not sure about adding miker g and sven to this mix. I love watching that video on youtube...love showing it to friends who haven't seen it but have seen 'little indian superstar' love putting the tune on once in a while for a laugh BUT it's just not a dope tune. Funny yes, dope, NO. 98% of the rhymes are recycled and the beat is okay....peace man!
